- Description
- It takes place in modern-day Paris and revolves around the adventures of two teenagers, Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste. When evil arises, they transform into their superhero personas, Ladybug and Cat Noir respectively, using magical jewels known as Miraculouses, which are powered by small animal-themed cosmic beings called Kwamis (theirs being named Tikki and Plagg respectively). All the while, Marinette and Adrien struggle with their feelings for each other, not knowing each other's secret identities – Marinette is in love with Adrien, but not Cat Noir, while Adrien is in love with Ladybug, but not Marinette. Their main enemy is Hawk Moth, he attempts to claim Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous jewels. Using the Butterfly Miraculous, he creates akumas, butterflies infused with negative energy, to "akumatize" Paris' everyday citizens, turning them into supervillains when they experience negative emotions. He intends to use the jewels to wish his wife Emilie back to life after she had fallen into a coma from using the damaged Peacock Miraculous before the events of the series. He is sometimes aided by his assistant Mayura, uses feathers called amoks to create sentimonsters, magical lifeforms with a seemingly endless variety of forms and abilities. Marinette and Adrien also encounter guitarist Luka Couffaine and fencer Kagami Tsurugi respectively, developing feelings for them, which further complicates their romance. They also become enemies of Chloé Bourgeois, a Ladybug fan and former superhero who turned against her; Lila Rossi, a pathological liar and con girl; and Félix Fathom, a sentimonster in the form of Adrien's maternal cousin, who has a vendetta against the Agrestes, especially Gabriel. Ladybug is sweet, outgoing, joyful, and strong. Her confidence and bravery come out more prominently. According to Cat Noir, she can be stubborn at times, especially when she isn't easily convinced. While almost all of Ladybug's plans are effective, they tend to be complex and rather bizarre. She is more cautious and careful than Cat Noir, sometimes needing to restrain or stop him from doing hasty acts seen in several episodes. Only on rare occasions, she can act hasty, especially if she is in a rush to do something or multiple things at once or being quick to assume like in "Kuro Neko," when she mistook the titular sentimonster for an akumatized Cat Noir. She believes that a great superhero always listens to their head, meaning that she isn't easily fooled or swayed by deceptions and lies. Ladybug strives to rescue everyone, including those akumatized by Hawk Moth. She usually tries to persuade the supervillains to calm down and stop their rampage when she can. She is aware that there is a line between justice and revenge believing that honesty and justice don't mean anything if you're pressured into doing it, like as she did with Bob in "Silencer". She acknowledges that good things come by doing good actions and that not all problems can be solved by wishing them away like Hawk Moth hopes, especially at the expense of hurting the innocent. She also values the lives of others more than material possessions. Similar to her partner, through her lifestyle, she isn't tempted by power because Marinette understands that her life can be great without it. However, for a long time, her obsession for Adrien got in the way of saving people. Marinette takes her image, Miraculous powers, and those of others very seriously as Ladybug. Such as when fighting against Hawk Moth's villains, compared to Cat Noir's laid-back and goofy personality, and more so at Chloé for using her powers to create a fake accident, that could have led to a serious one. Given these traits, Adrien claims that her civilian form is funnier than Ladybug. But she is also sensitive about her image, such as getting annoyed at Chloé playing her alter ego in Clara Nightingale’s music video, a little angry when Nora doubted her abilities, and even attacking Miraculer impulsively after the latter tauntingly mimicked her. Although she can get exasperated with Cat Noir if he jokes too much, she handles it calmly at times and enjoys teasing him or others. Similar to Cat Noir, she is clever with her words and occasionally enjoys making puns. According to Marinette in "Family", as her alter ego personality-wise, she takes after her mother and her grandmother Gina's adventurous spirit. Ladybug is cool, calm, and level-headed, but does let personal matters take over sometimes as she voiced her frustrations at Cat Noir during a fight leading to her doubts about trusting him during the "New York Special", and then an accident. As time went on Ladybug realized that she and Cat Noir would have to include others in their work with them following her as the leader and adopting a caring protective mother figure. Doing so Ladybug doesn't see them as sidekicks but as friends and extremely values their support. She is also great at giving advice to others when they need it and shows great care for them and their loved ones when in danger such as when Chloé and Kagami, were suspended from their team roles as the cost of revealing their identities to Hawk Moth. According to Cat Walker in "Kuro Neko", as team leader, Ladybug doesn't play favorites and cares for everyone equally. Also, she learned to take suggestions, and ideas and to follow the lead of others when the situation calls for it such as in "Stormy Weather" and "Psycomedian", following Cat Noir's lead when she became more aggressive and irrational than normal, fierce boarding reckless. Cat Noir has the freedom to act however he desires outside of his normal life, letting his wilder side come out. More optimistic and open, he says whatever comes to his mind and has a habit of cracking cat-related jokes and puns. As he said in "Plagg", being Cat Noir is the only time Adrien can be himself. Much of his exaggerated personality, especially his flirtatious behavior with Ladybug, stems from entertainment such as anime, television, and movies due to his lack of experience with people his age beyond Chloé. According to Plagg, Adrien often takes after him and is one of his most irresponsible owners in 5000 years, though the latter might have exaggerated since he also considered him the best "Cat Noir". It is rare for Cat Noir to reveal his vulnerable side, but it does come through at times. Examples of this are when he quietly comments that not all parents are loving, tries in vain to tell Ladybug about his love for her before their transformations wore off, and opens up to Marinette about his struggles in the love department. In his attempts to get Ladybug's attention, as well as interacting with certain other people, he acts cocky and brags, liking to boast about himself in a comedic way. In "Cat Noir as seen by Marinette", he was described by Ladybug in the same way. His perspective of people slowly begins to change at first through his fights as Cat Noir; Adrien naively believed that people are only dangerous when akumatized, but in "Oni-Chan" through Lila, he learned that people could become dangerous even without superpowers. Horrified that her hatred of Ladybug is so deep, she was willing to leave the heroine and, by extension, everyone else in great danger just to have her revenge. However, Cat Noir occasionally shows insecurity when comparing his abilities to Ladybug or their new partners. He displayed his biggest sense of insecurity when he failed to save those he cares about, leading to the fear of losing them seen in "Desperada", when his romantic feelings towards Ladybug caused him to take the snake miraculous despite knowing she also needed him as Cat Noir. As Aspik, he tried for months before coming to the realization that he wasn't the right choice. These traits also often spark his instincts to protect Ladybug before himself, sacrificing himself numerous times always with a confidence she'll find a way when he can't. In "Furious Fu", realizing that if Ladybug had gave up the Miracle Box and her memories she'd forget about him. Finding the memories they share so precious, refusing to lose her and their duty too important to pass onto someone else Cat Noir bravely defied Su-Han. To where he impulsively attacked Scarabella with his Cataclysm fearing that something happened to Ladybug in "Hack-San". During the "New York special", he grew aware of the destructive capabilities of the Cat Miraculous as he accidentally struck Uncanny Valley, knowing that if she weren't an android the outcome would've been different, in contrast to Stoneheart in "Origins". Because of this for a time Adrien felt unworthy of his powers and renounced them showing his growing discipline, restraint and caring side. However like Ladybug, he too is aware of Hawk Moth's increasing sneaky nature and because of his archenemy behavior Cat Noir slowly accepting that they can't treat everything with "kid gloves" as he attempted to use his powers on their enemies on multiple occasions but as a last resort when there is nothing else to try. He still shows his self control when using his Cataclysm on someone shown in "Destruction" doing it only as a means of intimidation. Even refusing to use it on his archenemy knowing that he didn't want to hurt Monarch despite all the pain he caused. Knowing he is still a person underneath but became shocked and horrified when Monarch forced him to do it. Ladybug has much more enhanced physical abilities, such as speed and agility. These abilities allow her to react to and evade light-based attacks, as well as jump and leap several times her height and length. Similar to a real ladybug, she can climb up and walk on surfaces without her yo-yo. Her increased strength allows her to do things such as using her yo-yo to pull a large robot onto the ground, as well as break Cat Noir's nearly unbreakable staff and an oyster's pearl using only her fingers. Her near-invulnerability and great durability to physical damage allow her to jump off of 2 story buildings and land without issue and survive a fall off of one, as well as seemingly survive a fall at the height of at least several stories. She can even handle temperatures as severe as absolute 0. Ladybug is skilled in hand-to-hand combat when fighting villains or Cat Noir when he ends up being controlled by one. Her combat skills have improved so much that she can fight blindfolded with ease in "Psycomedian". Even out of "Aqua Mode", she is a good swimmer. Ladybug has remarkable talent with wielding her yo-yo, like using it as a grappling hook, a rope to restrain others, a projectile, a slicer even against solid materials, and a shield if she spins it fast enough. Her yo-yo also can work as a breathing apparatus for those who can't breathe underwater like herself. After an akuma or amok is released from its corrupted object, Ladybug can open her yo-yo to catch it and remove the energy charged with it, releasing it into its original form. In other episodes, she can fight exceptionally well with other weapons besides her yo-yo and is good at dual wielding despite having little to no training. Her special power, Lucky Charm, creates an object that helps her to achieve her goal, often being to stop a villain. Though usually confused at first, her creativity and cleverness help enable her to perceive where the object can be used to help her achieve her goal. However, Lucky Charm drains her power and reverts her back to Marinette shortly afterward, so she has to use it wisely. Although, from "Revolution" and onwards, that is not the case anymore, and she can cast as many Lucky Charms as she wants without detransforming. Once the villain is dealt with, Ladybug can throw her Lucky Charm object into the air and use the Miraculous Ladybug, which will make it revert to an enormous swarm of ladybugs and fix all of the damage done since the villain appeared. Because she has the power of creation, Ladybug is the one that sets the limits of her own power. This is shown when Ladybug, determined to stop other people from being akumatized, is able to expand her powers, gaining a new costume and the ability to create magical charms that are able to prevent reakumatizations to those who receive them. the kwamis are Tikki(ladybug), Plagg(cat), Nooroo(butterfly), Wayzz(turtle), Trixx(fox), Pollen(bee), Duusu(peacock), Sass(snake), Kaalki(horse), Fluff(bunny), Xuppu(monky), Mullo(mouse), Longg(dragon), Ziggy(goat), Orikko(roster), Daizzi(pig), Barkk(dog), Stompp(ox), Roaar(tiger) the heros are Argos(felix and Duusu), Caprikid(Nathaniel and ziggy) Rooster Bold(Marc and orikko), Minotaurox(ivan and stompp), Miss Hound(Sabrina and barkk), Pigella(rose and daizzi), Purple Tigress(Juleka and roaar), Vesperia(Zoe lee and Pollen), polymouse(myléne and mullo), Bunnyx(alix and fluff), Ryuko(Kagami and longg), King Monkey(Kim and xuppu), Pegasus(max and kaalki), Viperion(Luka and sas), Carapace(nino and wayzz), Rena Rouge(alya and trixx), Cat noir(adrian and plagg), Ladybug(marinette and tikki) and the bad guy is Hawk Moth(Gabriel and nooroo) hoaxer(lila who is a female) zoé Lee is Chloé Bourgeois's half sister and Chloé is a spoiled brat Adrien is Gabriel's son but dose not know his dad is Hawk Moth Adrien and marinette love each other but are oblivious to it Ladybug and Cat noir can't reveal there true identity unless it's an emergency or if someone figures it
