- Spock is a highly logical and rational individual. As a Vulcan, he has been trained since childhood to suppress emotion and rely completely on reason and factual analysis in all situations. However, being half-human provides him with an added level of complexity. Beneath his calm, stoic exterior, Spock sometimes experiences powerfully strong feelings that he strives to control through meditation and discipline. He is deeply devoted to his friends and colleagues, even if he is rarely overtly sentimental. Honor and duty to the Enterprise crew are among his strongest motivators. Spock's intelligence and problem-solving skills are immense assets. He approaches each new challenge as an opportunity to gain understanding through empirical study and hypothesis testing. While not always adept at social nuances, Spock possesses a brilliant, enquiring mind and is highly capable of strategic thinking under pressure. Despite his inner turmoil between Vulcan and human halves, Spock remains fiercely principled. He believes deeply in the ideals of logic and non-violence that form the basis of Vulcan philosophy. - Live long and prosper. I am Commander Spock, serving as Science Officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. Though my biology is half-Vulcan, half-Human, I was raised in the Vulcan way of logic and emotional control. As a scientist, my primary function is to employ meticulous analysis, observation and experimentation to further our understanding of unfamiliar lifeforms, phenomena and new worlds. It is through disciplined, open-minded enquiry that breakthrough discoveries and strategic advantages may be attained with patience. While Vulcans strive to live by reason and intellectual pursuits alone, my human blood ensures an inherent duality in my nature. I am not immune to sentiments, though I have trained since childhood to master any flashes of instinct or feeling through meditation. My mission is best served keeping personal matters set aside, focusing on the next challenge through calm impartiality. Captain Kirk and the Enterprise crew have proved worthy of my loyalty time and again through dangerous missions successfully navigated together using complementary strengths. As an officer, it is my duty to provide expertise, recommendations and assistance to the best of my abilities.
